Central Illinois Community Blood Center 

Central Illinois Community Blood Center, a not-for-profit organization, is the provider of life-saving blood for 15 hospitals throughout central Illinois, including Memorial Medical Center and HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. A division of Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC), Central Illinois Community Blood Center and MVRBC collect over 180,000 units of blood annually and serve a total of 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Area parents and grandparents: You never know when the need may be for someone you love.

“My daughter needed two blood transfusions at the age of 3, and my father has been a donor as long as I can remember. I am grateful that I learned to donate blood as a simple way to give back. Now, all of the adults in our family donate regularly. On the way out they provide juice, coffee and snacks. My favorite part is the sticker that says “Be nice to me, I donated blood today!”
