Format

Please submit text via email attachment in Microsoft Word, using Comic Sans font. Any headers within the manuscript should be in green, bold type, and font size 10. The text in the body of the article should be in font size 10. Please do not use tabs or indentation within the document. Any weblinks should appear all in blue.

Length

Keep in mind that "less is more" when it comes to the busy schedules of our readers. Tips as brief as one sentence are just as useful as summary articles. Where appropriate, you may refer readers to additional resources for more information (related websites or other publications.) Article submissions should be no more than one-half to full-page (up to 300-500 words), unless otherwise approved in advance by the editor(s). All content may be revised or otherwise abridged by the editor(s).

Content

Springfield Moms reserves the right to accept or reject any items submitted for publication. The editor(s) cannot guarantee that submissions not selected for publication will be returned to the author.

Springfield Moms asks that contributing authors who submit reviews of products or services base their recommendations upon personal experience or that of other persons interviewed by the author. In the event that the recommendation is established on the experiences of persons other than the author, the author should notify the editor(s) of the identity of those sources, though the sources might not be named in the text itself.

Springfield Moms will not indemnify any author for liability on any grounds as a result of any text submitted for publication, regardless of whether or not the article was solicited by Springfield Moms. By submitting text for publication, authors agree to hold Springfield Moms harmless for any claim against the author related to the manuscript.

Authorization

Springfield Moms strives to offer positive, useful tips and information to our readership. As a result, we may recommend a particular product or service readers might find beneficial. We may also find the work of parenting "experts" (or other notable sources) of interest to our readers, and might wish to share some of their original ideas in our newsletter and website. In so doing, we must be sensitive to the copyrights of others.

We ask that our contributors obtain a source’s permission to quote from (or otherwise use original information from) a copyrighted work and provide written authorization to the editor(s) prior to publication.
